DIGISTAMP BIRTHDAY CARD

Well, there has been a lot of debate on a group I belong to as to whether or not Digistamps are indeed stamps or just merely clipart. I must say that I don't really mind how they are catagorised... I just love digistamps! Talk about instant gratification - its the best! And you can resize them to suit any project. I was late with some birthday cards for my group and used a Digistamp that I printed onto white card stock, coloured in and mounted onto spellbinders cut-outs. A quick and easy card to make but quite effective and striking in its colouring. So YES, I'm a fan. Now to get going with all the swaps I have committed to - and there are hordes of them! I promise to try and be more regular with my posts but life has been hectic to say the least. Until next time... happy crafting!

BLOG AWARD

Thank you so much Debbie for giving me this award, I really appreciate it and cupcakes are a HUGE favourite of mine! On accepting this award I have to do a few things:

1. Thank the person who gave it to me.

2. Put it on my blog.

3. Mention 3 things that I love doing.

4. My favourite picture

5. And then finally, to pass it on to 5 other bloggers.
The 3 things that I love doing are: Crafting, Reading and growing my own organic veggies and fruit in my veggie patch / orchard. Nothing beats just popping outside to pick a fresh bunch of herbs or cut some lettuce or dig up a few fresh new potatoes. Unless its homemade marmalade of course!!

My favourite pic (thats a hard one) is probably the one of my first born, Riggs, my dog. He is recovering nicely from his operation and had his stitches out yesterday. Although we did end up back at the vet this morning due to an eye allergy / infection he developed overnight.
The 5 people I would like to pass this blog award on to, are:
These ladies never cease to amaze me with their creativity and productivity and love of the creative. Thanks ladies for being the inspiration that you are.
I made my first purchase from DigiStamps4Joy yesterday. What a pleasure! The site was fast, the checkout simple, the payment a breeze via EFT and the image downloads arrived in under 5 minutes. Way to go ladies - keep up the fab work! www.digistamps4joy.com pop along and support South African digital stamp artists.
Well thats it from me for today. Keep crafting!

T.G.I.F

Well thank goodness it's Friday! It's really been an loooooong week. What with my big dog coming home from the hospital after his knee surgery (TTO operation where they split the bone and put pins and plates in) and trying to keem him quiet and immobolised and keep the other dog from jumping all over him and knocking him over, and all the dogs in neighbourhood going dilly every night this week because of the full moon... I'm really tired!! Its off to Club Duvet with DJ Pillow early for me tonight. LOL!
I'm going to be really busy this weekend.. got Sept birthday cards for the RSA group to make, got Sping Artistic Envelopes to make as well as Pink ATC's for Debbie Harris's swap. Definitely be kept out of mischief with that lot! Before I head off, this is a card I made for the Card Front swap that was hosted by another RSA group member, Kathy Pitot. We decided to save paper and only make up the card fronts, which we then bind into a file or folder and use for inspiration when the muse is away with the fairies.
Have a fabaliss weekend everyone....

Card for Cansa

It's cold and windy in Durban today, with an 80% chance of rain they say. Yuk - roll on Summer! Staying with the Cards for Cansa theme, this is a card I made for a very special cause instigated by one our local South African Artists and Bloggers, Sharon Keanly. I just love Sharon's blog - although I don't know where she finds the time to create every day. I wish I could. Sharon's blog is http://sharonskardzkorner.blogspot.com/ if you have a mind to pop over and have a look at her amazing creations. I was trying to portray that no matter what trials and tribulations we women have to endure, mentally, physically and emotionally, we are still the best of Natures Beauty because of our indominitable spirit. I hope that came across.

Staying with the letter E, this is an ATC I made for the

Earthy in Olive Green challenge that hosted by one of

our RSA hostesses.

We had to use stamped images of nature and this stylised tree stamp is one of the Inchie stamps from Inkadinkadoo's Nature set. They are just perfct for Inchies and for creating little accents on other projects. They stamp really well too.

This is the ATC I made for the Letter E of the A to Z

ATC challenge, and it features Elizabeth Taylor, whom

I think is one of the most beautiful women in the world.

My scanning seems to be a bit squonk on a lot of these!

Must try harder to get them aligned properly!!

This is the ATC I made for the letter D of the A to Z

ATC challenge.

This one was coloured in using watercolour paints and

is called "Dream". The stamp is from Craft Individuals.

This is the ATC I made for the Letter C of the A to Z

ATC challenge.

This one features Charlie Chaplin and is called

"Comedy"

This is one of the ATC's I made for the RSA Group's A to Z ATC Challenge which was hosted by Penny Goument.

This one is "B is for Bogart".

I just LOVE the olden day movie stars and starlets... they really had a style and charm of their own.

My Very First Blog Post

Hi there crafty people. This is my very first Blog Post. What a wonderful way to share creativity with the world!

I can't promise to post everyday, but I'll certainly try to upload examples of my craft as and when I can.

This is an ATC I made for an RSA Group Breast Cancer Awareness challenge. The title is "Strength". I have several friends and family who have passed away recently due to various types of cancer - most recently my sister in law who had breast cancer - so it is a subject that is close to my heart.
